Synopsis

tbh at points, i feel like a lot of shit is not worth to keep paying for and honestly i was thinking to myself at some point - this world is becoming increasingly expensive and then i got some of this bs holding me back you get me.

i mean you can talk about subscriptions honestly, i cancelled a decent amount of the few i used like i don’t plan to go back to netflix and i don’t plan to ever use spotify again but let’s get to what man has to say in it

1. subscriptions….

more that i look at all this subscription shit, it’s just not getting me nowhere and i almost feel like i’m spending a little too much living by them. i mean there was a time i had chatgpt plus, some twitter subscription shit for bookmarks, spotify for a while, discord for ages and other shit but honestly it’s like this summer - i just realised how meaningful this shit can be when you migrate it to your own side of things.

Maybe this the life I’ve chosen, Fixing up myself, I’m broken

I mean growing up in the UK - shit was chill back in the late 2000s and early 2010s. I had a lot of fun on early youtube and was heavy on vlc back in the day as a young kid. I was using pcs from like 2009 and got my first pc by 2012 (a windows 8 sky blue pavillion). then i feel like all that independent stuff kinda went away from me as i grew up, i started using socials and then started using spotify more and more but slowly i began to have enough…

2. social media

if i’m gonna be honest with you, me and social media in 2026 - man i’m tired of it lol. I mean i was on sites like twitter since 2020 (had an account from 2016) but honestly shit is like a cesspool these days….almost everything trending just built on negativity these days on that platform. Insta is kinda different since i don’t spend that much time on it these days.

I mean even discord - i honestly don’t know if its even worth it to keep nitro (since it feel like nothin and smthn at the same time) and to even keep my account there still. I mean for most people it’s easy to leave smthn relatively quickly and for me - it would be pretty easy to leave shit behind but there is something different. I mean i been using Discord for around 10 years so this isn’t a habit you can drop easily and more important to me than all that shit is the friends n bruddas i made on there over the 10 years.

3. what i feel worth keeping or maybe not

I’m not saying all subscriptions are bad - I still feel like some are somewhat worth it like these:

  1. NordVPN
  2. Last.fm Pro
  3. Netflix*
  4. ChatGPT*
  5. Github*
  6. Discord*

4. what I change and plan to change

  1. Changed all my youtube shit over to a new account to get a new fresh feed
  2. Kinda stopped using google as a browser - now really just use brave and firefox these days
  3. Quit Opera ages ago after one of my main accounts got hacked (only just got it back fully)
  4. Bought a Sony Walkman and using Musicbee on my PC
  5. Might make some sort of movie server in the future
  6. Gonna see what books I could read in the future
  7. Dedicated to whatever the rest of my uni course gives
  8. Cut off any bad energy around me - whether its on youtube, twitter or whatever

Maybe this the life I’ve chosen, Fixing up myself, I’m broken

I guess this quote got 2 different meanings - my life was messy back then and while it’s less messy due to some of the shit I managed to patch up, not everything will be the same and it’s ok….

honestly other than that I generally don’t know where my life goes from here…it would probably be great and fun. I mean I was broken with all the bs going on in my life back then. Now, I feel proud of what I did and have done in the last 10 years with all the shit that went on in my life - maybe one day i will speak on it properly. I mean sometimes you gotta step out of your comfort zone and do the harder shit to get your life back on track…
